Energetics of Aphrodisiacs Part 2 | Featuring jim mcdonald (Rerelease)

This lecture comes from our Free Herbalism Project archive. We shared Pt. 1 of this 2-part lecture last week before Valentine’s Day! Talking about aphrodisiacs seemed like a great topic this time of year. And let’s be real, we could all use more love in our lives anytime of year, whether it’s coming from people or plant allies.

Listen along as jim mcdonald dives into aphrodisiacs, a popular and often problematic term. Looking at lists of plants deemed “aphrodisiacs,” we see everything from strong herbs (yohimbe) to culinary spices (ginger), from adaptogens (ashwangandha) to antispasmodics (kava). There are a lot of herbs that could be considered aphrodisiacs and as we’ll learn, what works for one person may not work for someone else. jim talks about what indications make certain herbs appropriate for certain people and offers engaging ideas to ponder with your loved ones. jim mcdonald is a community herbalist, a manic wildcrafter, a medicine maker, and has been an ardent student of the most learned teachers of herbcraft… the plants themselves. Learn more about jim and his educational opportunities by visiting herbcraft.podia.com

This presentation was recorded live at the Free Herbalism Project in Eugene, OR on August 29, 2014. jim references 14-pages of notes from his lecture that are available on our website. Unfortunately, we don’t have that document available anymore. Please reach out to jim and he’d be happy to connect!
