2024 Herbal Radio Recap Special | Featuring The Herbal Radio Team!

Happy New Year to all you plant-enthusiast listeners! For the first episode of Herbal Radio in 2025, we’ll be shaking things up a bit from the usual herbal adventure we find ourselves embarking on each week. After a busy year filled with interviews and the exciting launch our new series, Everything You Didn’t Know About Herbalism, we’re bringing the whole Herbal Radio team to the table to recap another successful year of podcasting! For the very first time, our esteemed hosts, Thomas and Jiling, are joined by Hailey (me) and Gracie, who are the Producer and the Editor/Graphic Designer of Herbal Radio! Join us as we share laughs, insightful moments, and highlight some of the most impactful conversations we’ve had the honor of sharing with you all in 2024.

We’ve had such a wonderful year sharing voices and stories from many folks throughout the herbal community and beyond, and we’re so excited to share more with you in the upcoming year. From the entire Herbal Radio family, we hope you have a wonderful start to the New Year!

Learn more about the Herbal Radio Team below!

🎙️ Thomas Dick is the Vice President of Brand Marketing here at Mountain Rose Herbs, where he controls and creates the look and feel of the company. Thomas has been in the field of graphic design and marketing for more than 20 years and has spent the last 10 years building the Mountain Rose Herbs brand. Born and raised in the Appalachia mountains, Thomas's appreciation for the natural world was cultivated during his childhood spent roaming the creeks and hills of Kentucky and Ohio outdoors. While pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies, Thomas discovered his passion for design and marketing, eventually earning dual degrees from Ohio State University. When Thomas is not conducting interviews for the Herbal Radio podcast, designing beautiful packaging, or mapping out our next marketing campaign, you will most likely find him in his machine shop pursuing his other passion—restoring vintage racing motorcycles.

🏵️ Jiling Lin is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac) and herbalist in Ventura, CA. Along with being an esteemed clinician and teacher, Jiling is also a passionate traveler, artist, and adventurer.

🤠 Gracie Umana is a photojournalist, botanical artist, hiker, and avid gardener. Before moving to Eugene in 2019, Gracie grew up in Ohio and Florida. She has a B.S. in Visual Communication with a focus on Photojournalism. Her artistic work has included documentary photography grants with the Center for Disease Control (CDC), environmental stories about small scale Appalachian farmers, and social justice movements in the Midwest. Gracie is passionate about sustainable living, environmental justice, and making sure our food systems are equitable for everyone. Outside of editing podcast interviews and designing artwork for Herbal Radio, you can find Gracie—accompanied by her pup Violet—lost in the woods with flowers in her hair and moss between her toes.

🪲 Hailey Larson grew up on a small rural farm in Oregon surrounded by trees and more animals than you could count on your fingers and toes. Hailey's collective passions for exploration, art, biology, and animals have led her through various career paths including veterinary medicine, neurodiverse healthcare, and teaching glazing at a local pottery studio. These accumulated skills brought her to the front steps of Mountain Rose Herbs, where she holds the position of Partnership & Event Coordinator. When she isn’t planning community events or acting as Producer of the Herbal Radio podcast, you can find her cooking up nourishing plant-based food, snuggling with her beloved kitty, Indigo, or wandering around mossy creek beds looking for agates and animal bones to breathe new life into her jewelry creations.
